Nature’s Poetic Vision presents a collection of poetic quotations and images that focus on the beauty found in nature and its sacred and therapeutic influence on man and his spirituality. Beautifully illustrated with stunning photographs of nature, digitally altered, his vision seeks to bridge the gap between ecology and theology: eco-theology.
Most people have experienced a deeply moving and pleasurable sense of oneness with something larger than themselves just by looking at the stars on a clear night, hearing the buzzing of bees in the blossoms of spring, or hiking in the woods or on the beach. Nature’s Poetic Vision blends that experience with beautiful quotes from well-known sources.
Author David Blow’s work embraces the technological changes that are taking place in our culture while maintaining his love for the beauty of our natural environment. Multiple images show the magic found in nature’s seasons. The poetic quote connected to each image magnifies that experience and offer insight into images of nature from the beauty of a butterfly to the quiet serenity of freshly fallen snow.
Nature’s Poetic Vision seeks to bring the natural environment and the electronic world of man in the twenty-first century together in harmony.
My recent exhibitions: Patterns From Nature, and Natures Poetic Vision, have focused on the beauty found in nature and its sacred and therapeutic influence to man. I am seeking to bridge the gap between ecology and theology: ecotheology. It’s rare to find a person who hasn’t experienced a deeply moving and pleasurable sense of oneness with something awesomely larger than themselves just through looking at the stars on a clear night… at the rhythmic circling of the birds overhead... buzzing of bees in the blossom’s of spring...hiking in the woods or on the beach.
I have always been interested in what inspires us to do better, to reach for new heights in our life and work. This book is dedicated to the many individuals who inspire us with their spiritual words of wisdom. In my work I am offering my vision of how nature contributes to our spiritual quest. I am offering the viewer my interpretation of an inspirational moment in the natural environment. The quote connected to the image is to magnify that experience and offer insight to the images original purpose. I enjoy the synergy that is created when contemplating the image and the quote.
My work is embracing the technological changes that are taking place in our culture, while maintaining my love for the beauty of our natural environment. Multiple images are used to show the magic of a time found in nature’s seasons. Through the use of the computer, I bring the viewer into my poetic vision of universal harmony between nature, man and technology. Aesthetically, I am seeking to show the harmony between the natural environment and the electronic one.
